Wide Selection of Materials and Styles

Wood-Mode's extensive selection of more than 85 standard wood finish colors, two standard finish sheen levels and 30 standard laminates satisfies a broad range of decorating tastes and lifestyles. In addition, Wood-Mode will custom match unique finishes to customers’ specifications. The finest woods are selected to ensure superior quality.

· Cherry: A richly elegant hardwood, characterized by a close grain pattern, gum streaks and subtle color variations. Cherry tends to darken with age—a natural process that enhances its warmth and charm.
· Knotty Cherry: All of the natural character of Cherry, including knots and checks, gives it a true rustic Cherry Look.

·Maple: A finely grained hardwood favored for its distinctive burl patterns.
· Heartwood Maple: The rustic natural beauty of Maple, including its mineral streaks, checks, and heavier burl, is usually found in the wood that comes from the center of the tree.

· Oak: A hardwood valued for its resilience and prominent grain, beauty and strength.

· Other: In addition to the above wood species, decorative rattan, herringbone, olive ash burl, and bird's-eye Maple veneers are available as inserts.

The Wood-Mode Factory produces two full lines of customized cabinetry under the Wood-Mode and Brookhaven names, each with a multitude of storage options. Brookhaven cabinets are available in an amazing selection of door styles and finishes, and it is common for clients to combine the two lines. The result is not just a beautiful kitchen, but one that promises to stand up to the challenges of everyday life. Brookhaven's 10-year warranty against defects of material or workmanship is our assurance that you can count on many years of enjoyment.


Wood-Mode Multi Step Hand Finishing

Each of our multi-step finishes is designed to highlight the beauty of the wood, and all are protected with a catalyzed coating for lifetime durability. The following time-tested quality furniture finishing techniques are used to create the many Wood-Mode finishes that satisfy a wide range of personal tastes and lifestyles including:
· Multiple hand and machine sanding and oven-baked drying operations are used on every finish to insure long-lasting quality and durability.
· Eight hand distressing options—dents, nicks, rasping, worm holes, joint cracks, rub throughs, splits and wear-aging techniques—are used to produce an antiqued character and flavor.
· Enhanced Staining - Wood-Mode’s process of wetting the wood to raise the grain, along with one-and two-step hand staining, produces deep colors with enhanced wood grain and beauty.
· Uniform color in the wood is achieved with toning and spray staining applications.
· Time-tested hand-padding, hand cow-tailing, hand-burnishing processes are used to add further antique furniture appearance.
· Six different hand-glazing techniques are offered by Wood-Mode to produce the many different looks popular in today’s home interiors,
· Catalyzed sealer, hand-sealer sanding, spec distressing and catalyzed matte or standard sheen varnish spray operations are used to create lifetime durability and beauty on our stained custom cabinet wood products. Wood-Mode’s catalyzed oven-baked varnish top coat with ultraviolet screen inhibitors provides maximum resistance to scuffing, dents, moisture, UV fade and household chemicals.
· Opaque finishes receive high quality sealer, primer and catalyzed color coats to insure beauty and lifetime durability. An extensive hand-sanding operation is performed between each application.
· Our multi-step hand-buffing process creates the smoothest, richest patina imaginable -- feel the difference yourself when you visit our showroom!

 

Wood-Mode & Brookhaven -- Quality That Cannot Be Duplicated

It all starts with lumber processing at Wood-Mode’s highly integrated manufacturing facility. Wood-Mode’s own kilns perform an intensive lumber drying process that achieves the optimum moisture content required for the necessary stability of its custom cabinetry, furniture and architectural elements. Wood species used in Wood-Mode and Brookhaven cabinets are furniture grade, and are harvested in batches to produce a kitchen with wood from the same location and age, providing a uniform quality appearance as the cabinetry ages. In order to achieve a cabinet of quality and uniform finish, a catalytic conversion varnishing system must be performed in a large manufacturing facility. The types of materials and chemicals that go onto the wood is also important, as low quality stains and finishes can result in dangerous off-gassing of Volatile Organic Compounds (or VOC's ) Wood-Mode and Brookhaven cabinets have no detectable VOC's because they care about you and your families health.

Wood-Mode has taken pride in producing the industry's highest quality cabinetry in a manner that demonstrates its genuine concern and care for the environment. Wood-Mode has been certified by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) as meeting the standards for its "Environmental Stewardship Program" (ESP). This program was created to recognize industry manufacturers who use environmentally friendly materials and production processes. To qualify for and maintain certification, manufacturers are evaluated annually on compliance in five categories, including air quality, product resource management, process resource management, environmental stewardship, and community relations, as well as energy conservation and recycling programs.
